Job Description

For the Fall 2025 semester, the Tutoring Center is hiring three (3) Perkins Grant tutors, one nursing tutor, one technical writing tutor, and one computer science tutor, who will provide specialized tutoring in their area of expertise. 

The Perkins Grant tutor will:
  • Provide one-on-one and/or group assistance to students in subjects the tutor is knowledgeable in
  • Provide students with information on resources to help them succeed in their coursework  
  • Maintain accurate records of tutoring sessions utilizing the scheduling system, Navigate
  • Participate in all required meetings and trainings as designated by their supervisor
  • Maintain strong communication with their supervisor by checking in in-person or via email
  • Assist students with scheduling appointments when necessary


Qualifications
These tutors will be eligible to work up to 20 hours per week at $15 per hour. To qualify for this position, you must meet most if not all the following requirements:
  • have a 2.75+ GPA
  • have a B or higher grade in the subject area tutoring
  • NOT be financial aid eligible
  • be an international student
  • be majoring in a Career and Technical Education (CTE) field, such as nursing, medical laboratory technology, business, accounting, or computer science
  • be able to commit 15-20 hours of tutoring per week
